I live about 1 mile from an amine plant.  At times the fumes are so strong that you can hardly breathe.  Depending on the wind this is a major problem for all who live around a plant.  They only have to have the approval of land owners living very close to the site to get permission to build.  I contacted the state and they opened a file on the complaint but have not contacted me.  I cannot help but believe that down the road we will begin to have serious health problems from these plants.  A close neighbor, who is allergic to sulpher, has broken out her entire body.  Does anyone have any information on the health hazzards of living close to an amine plant.  Thanks

Am I the only person who is concerned about the possibly dangerous by products of the shale exploration.  Is everyone so wrapped up in the $$$$$ that they refuse to consider the negative aspects that are possible.  Our quite country neighborhood has had our road destroyed even more with the parish only putting a few buckets of tar and gravel out.  There is a steady roar that can be heard for miles around.  Along with roar is the continous emission of nauseous and possibly toxic, cancer producing fumes that ruin any outside activity.  These fumes linger in your nostrils and lungs and you taste and smell them long after you have left the area.  It seems that eveyone is willing to enjoy the money and ignore and long term effects of our new found financial glory.
where are you located and who is running the treatment facility?

This plant is on Central Church Road, about 1 1/2 miles off Hwy 6, right at the Natch/Sabine parish line.  The company's name is Central Point Energy.

I don't see Central Point Energy listed with the Secretary Of State Of Louisiana?
Any possibility its CenterPoint Energy?
I am sorry.  It is Center Point Energy.  Thanks for responding.

It is CenterPoint Energy Field Services and that is their Robeline treating plant that deliveries gas into TGP(Tennessee Gas Pipeline).  The EPA keeps a close watch on any emissons.  You don't have anything to worry about as long as O'Bama is in charge!!! ha!!
