In a lease nine miles north from Carthage, in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field, the J. W. Cooke Unit 2 Well No.12 will be drilled by Lacy Operations, Ltd. The well will bottom at 9,890- feet in the Duboise, A Sr. Survey, A-159.

Fortson Oil Co. will drill the Mauritzen Gas Unit Well No.2 in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. This well will bottom at 10,000-feet 3.1 miles northeast from Long Branch in the Johnson, A Survey, A-349.

In a lease 7.9 miles southwest from Carthage, in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field, the CGU 31 Well No.17 will be drilled by Anadarko E&P Company LP. The well will bottom at 11,000-feet in the Romero, M A Survey, A-1.

Completions:
The Carthage Field has seen XTO Energy Inc. complete two new wells. The Louis Werner Sawmill Well No.12H is located 2.7 miles southwest of DeBerry with a depth of 17,255-feet and potentialed 6.997 million cubic feet of gas when gauged on a 20/64-inch choke. The Scott R. McGee Well No.12H is located 10.1 miles northeast of Carthage with a depth of 16,690-feet and potentialed 9.728 million cubic feet of gas when gauged on a 48/64-inch choke. Production is in the Haynesville Shale formation.

ConocoPhillips Co. has completed the Naomi 3 Unit Well No.16 and the Panola 2 Unit Well No.18 in the Carthage Field. The No.16 is located 8.1 miles southeast of Carthage with a depth of 10,900-feet and potentialed 449,000 cubic feet of gas when gauged on a 10/64- inch choke. The No.18 is located 8.6 miles southeast from Carthage with a depth of 9,577- feet and potentialed 842,000 cubic feet of gas when gauged on a 42/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.

When gauged on an adjustable choke, the Richardson Unit 1 Well No.14 potentialed 1.865 million cubic feet of gas. Lacy Operations, Ltd. has completed the well to a depth of 6.8 miles north of Carthage with a depth of 11,037-feet in the Carthage Field. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.

Devon Energy Production Company, L.P. has completed Carthage Gas Unit 112 Well No.15 in the Carthage Field. This well is located 4.7 miles southwest of Carthage with a depth of 9,478-feet. When gauged on an adjustable choke, the well potentialed 1.157 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.
