Has anyone heard any production results from the Nelson "H" well #1H?
It is still drilling, as of 3-26-10.
Oh okay. Thanks. I noticed when I passed by today the rig was down; or at least I couldn't see it above the trees...LOL! I'm hoping for the big one with this well. !!!!
Could be gone. All we can go by are the reports sent to Baker Hughs and others who track rig activity. The report I saw showed there was still a rig on it but sometimes they are a week or more behind. If the rig is gone, they made good time because they spud on Feb. 19, that is, unless they just drilled the pilot hole and set the surface casing. In that case another rig will finish drilling to TD.
I have interest in this well and I'm completely ignorant to it all...so what does a 'spud' mean and what's a pilot hole? I do know that TD means total depth...i'm a green horn!!! Sorry! LOL
Sorry about that!

Spud means they started drilling. Pilot hole means that sometimes they use a smaller rig to drill a hole down just below the depth of fresh or potable water and then they set surface casing to protect the water source. Later, a bigger rig will come in and use the same hole to finish drilling to "Total Depth" or TD. I think I explained that correctly... and if I didn't, someone who knows more will probably come along and correct me, LOL! I learn something new almost every day.
oh okay. Thanks for the info!
