Any ideas when activity is suppose to pick back up here in Panola County. Rumor has it something is bound to start happening in October/November.
I have seen a few rigs pop up randomly but nothing like 2006, 2007, 2008.
With the new pipeline work happening in the northeast, it should ad to the demand and create a slight increase for Natural Gas.
Does anyone know if the recent activity has been for Oil or Gas.

Permalink Reply by JHH on I've been reading in the Tyler Newspaper about increased activity in the Cotton Valley. But i don't know if this is a growing trend or not... or any specific targeted areas.

Just looking for some signs that some steady activity will be happening.
In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
