Has anyone heard about some landmen looking to start up new TMS leases in Rapides Parish?

Where exactly is this activity in Rapides? Also, does this signal the return of widespread activity in the parish?

I wouldn't get ahead of ourselves here, guys.  The old Giant well pad is in Section 23 - 1N - 2E.  That would put it about 2 miles NE of Cheneyville.  Let's keep a watch for a permit to drill which will tell us more about the company and their intentions.  This will be an exploration well.  It, and others, will have to be economic before there is a possibility of "widespread" activity.

Thanks Skip.  As always you are a great source of information.

You're welcome, John.  Got my fingers crossed.

Don't get me wrong,   I'm not expecting anything anytime soon.  I'm just curious because this is just south west of me, in Echo/Poland, and I'm keeping a watchful eye. I was just wondering if there'd been any extraordinary activity in addition to this.

Thanks for the info!

BlackBrush Oil and Gas from Texas (Austin Chaulk) not letting weather slow those guys down..bringing equipment cranes and trailers, etc

.Rig has not arrived ..

I was given some information about this specific activity. Source says that they're focused on this area ONLY and expansion north and or eastward won't take place. This is because the area they're in is the sweet spot, or so they say. It's truly amazing, my area is between both plays in "No Man's Land."

I think that if this well does good there will be other companies leasing too.

okay, I'm a little confused.  Is this the original well (serial number 2203560) that they are re-entering, or are they drilling a whole new well.  Do they assign a new number to the well when they re-enter?  I see on January the 24th on serial number 250723, the details under scout info is "re-entered 1/23/18, tested hydrill & Nov type 6012 10M pipe rams to 250 PSI low & 5000 PSI high for 30 minutes on chart, test ok.  1/24/18, present operations, washing down"

this leads me to believe that they have re-entered the old well instead of drilling a new one at this time.  Just guessing

Randall, they already lease EAST and WEST...I heard RIG staying in area for a while...they not the only dog in the show....that’s good for us...
