EnCana has permitted another Haynesville Shale well in T13N-R8W in the Martin Field.  This is the first well located east of Hwy 507 (Hankins Rd) and south of Hwy 155 (Ashland Rd).

Also, EnCana has applied for a new Haynesville Unit in T12N-R8W in the Liberty Field.

I posted the well plat.
Thanks for posting the well plat, Les. For not so knowledgeable folks like me, why would they drill in Section 32 to end up in 29? Who shares in the royalties in this case? Thanks in advance, R B
RB, only the mineral owners in Section 29 share in the production because the well lateral will only be perforated and produced from that section/unit.

Operators drill wells from adjacent sections for one or more of three reasons.
1) Allows maximum lateral length by starting well bend in adjacent section.
2) Surface location may be site of future superpad to allow drilling of wells into 2 or more sections from single location.
3) Target section may have surface restrictions that make finding a suitable well location difficult.
for any one who knows, encana is drilling a well in our section. where can i find info as to where the lateral perforation will take place. we are in 9-12-9 in red river parish thanks.
Ernie, you can look at the attached plat to see the location of the horizontal lateral in Section 9 for the following well:

thanks les as usual you come through. you really are an invaluable resource. i was hopeful the bottom hole was in our section and it appears to be so
Les,
Swepi is moving a rig onto 34-12-9 and is expected to spud this week. Is there any way to tell if they have a pipeline already available or what is the nearest line?
The serial # is 240978.
Thanks, Jeff
Jeff, I do know from sources "on the ground" that Centerpoint has laid a new gathering pipeline south across Hwy 784 (Hickory Grove Rd) just west of Grand Bayou. I assume that pipeline may be planned (if not installed already) to continue south across Hwy 71 to the Section 34 area.
thank you kind sir
Les B-

I'm guessing numbers 1 and 2 apply to #241167 just applied for in Liberty Field? Any other thoughts?

thanks,

R B
RB, number 1 would be more applicable to the Wiley Hunter 29 well since it will get benefit of the longer lateral while number 2 would apply to both wells.
