The operator may not wish to frac at this time because of low gas prices, no pipeline connection, etc. Or the well may be on a completion contractors schedule and they just haven't gotten to it yet. It is doubtful that any "individual" is, our could, hold up completion. There are many more wells than this one that have not been fraced and have been waiting much longer.

There is a new pipeline that should be at least 1/2 way to completion at this time. In the normal schedule of well development is fracing the last thing to be done before "flowing to sales" ( given there is a pipeline) ?

JS, this well reached total depth in early February. Most likely Shell/EnCana are waiting on the completion of the gathering system and/or treating facilities before fracing the well. The downstream infrastructure should be in place so the well can be flowed back immediately after fracture stimulation. Many wells in parts of Red River Parish are in a similar situation.

Only the State can hold up the completion of a well.

Bonnie, Sonris shows the well has been frac'ed and is just waiting for the plugs to be drilled out.

If anyone has any more news of this well I would SO appreciate it. And just one question...when in the process of completing a well is the rig moved off the site to another well site?

JS, the typical sequence for a well is as follows:

1) Drill well to total depth (TD) with rig
2) Rig moved off location
3) Well fracture stimulated
4) Surface equipment (separator & tanks) installed
5) Gas pipeline connected
6) Plugs drilled out with coiled tubing unit
7) Well flowed to sales and tested

Can you tell us what "FRAC; WAITING ON COIL TUBING UNIT" indicates for the Willis well?

JS, it means the well has been frac'ed (fracture stimulated) and the operator is waiting on a coil tubing unit. The coil tubing unit will be moved to the well to drill out plugs set in the casing between each frac stage.
