Both wells are Waiting On Completion (WOC). The work permit for completion operations was issued effective 10/3017. The steep downturn in oil and gas prices caused a reduction in the numbers of frac crews. Both wells will be completed together once a crew can get to it.
Thank you. I am sure I will have more questions relating to what it may mean for Red River Parish once it comes online. Although with price below $3, kind of have a guess about that.
Sections 7 & 18 are generally on the eastern edge of the explored basin. The original wells in those sections appear to indicate good rock quality. Good well results could encourage more wells further east in 13N - 8W.
In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
