I got a letter from Seitel Data offering $15 an acre to do a seismographic survey.  Is this the going rate for something like this?  thanks, Kevin

No, I'm in Sabine. It's interesting that we have a new player in that area... several companies have leases in the R. Slaughter and surrounding surveys. I'm just curious to find out who Goodrich is in with.
Do you know much about the Goodrich company? the lease man was really nice and he said they would be drilling soon on that property.. I am new to all this mineral's stuff and am still trying to learn alot of the tricks and trades of it. Feel free to offer any advise for me.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
