A business associate of mine has received a pre-application notice from Dep. of Conservation for unitizing of Sec. 20, T7N-R11W, Sabine Parish, and specifies the Haynesville zone. The named operator is Petrohawk. This is less than 1mile from the Many city limits.

He has not been contacted by Petrohawk or anyone associated with them at this time. Any information on what offers others may have received in the area would be of great interest.

I think this is the furthest south that a Haynesville unitization permit has been sought.

I am waiting on a faxed copy of the plat that was in the pre-application letter that I had mentioned in my original post. As soon as I receive, I will post on this site. Sorry for the delay.

This section is just west of Many (less than one mile) and lies south of highway 171 and north of Shuteye road ( which is north of Hwy 6).

One of the landowners in this unit has been contacted about placing the well site on his property.
this well will be in section 20 property of A.T. Martinez

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
