southeast Texas oil and gas website is simply a "home" page
GulfWest Oil Co acquires Southeast Texas Oil & Gas Co in 1998 and Gulfwest Oil Company acquired by Crimson Exploration--see postings for Crimson Exploration in San Augustine and Sabine counties and their website; Crimson partners with Devon in San Augustine MONSTER Kardell #1H well
Here is the only map I've seen of Sabine Island, compliments of Chesapeake. I posted this back in November under the Sabine County Texas board. With nothing more to go on than this map, it looks like San Augustine is OK. But I've got interests near Milam and Toledo Bend. I hope we're not SOL over there. Petrohawk just permitted a well West of Many LA on the other side of the lake, and via this board it appears leasing is ongoing on that side of the lake. Here's to hoping.... Cheers....
i would want 25% (1/4) royalty more than i would want a bigger bonus; the companies (or actually just brokers, or traders) that are offering 22.5% or less are probably not going to drill; they are hoping to sell your lease to devon or another company that actually intends to drill, get their money back and still keep the 2.5% difference for their profit; that 2.5% may not mean much to you, but it obviously does to them; it could be a big difference in your monthly checks for years to come, why give it to someone who doesn't deserve it?! also, the oil co. that wants to drill doesn't want to have to deal with the broker that took your lease; they may go around you, if possible, only buying your lease as last resort; you may see a drilling rig right next to you, that doesn't include you in the unit. beware.
"Between 2005 and 2009, Eagle formed an investment partnership that accumulated over $20 million dollars of leasehold in the Haynesville play in Louisiana and Texas (Eagle Stone Energy Partners, L.P.). During this period, Eagle also formed a partnership that accumulated over $2 million dollars of leasehold in the Marcelles Play in West Virginia (Eagle MAR Energy Partners, L.P.). Eagle owns oil and gas interests in over 600 wells (with more than 150 being operated by the Company) located in twelve states, with the majority of reserve value situated in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Wyoming. Current net production from producing wells approximates 650 barrels of oil per day ("BOPD") and 5600MCF of gas per day, for a total of 1,500 barrels of oil equivalent ("BOED"). Additionally, the Company has an undrilled acreage inventory prospective for future production covering approximately 140,000 gross and 50,000 net leasehold acres" http://eagleog.com/history.html
My lease lease to Eagle says "EAGLE OIL & GAS Co., a Texas Corporation, ("Lessee”), whose address is 5949 Sherry Lane, Suite 1720, Dallas, Texas 75225-8013."
My leases to Cabot say "CABOT OIL & GAS CORPORATION, ("Lessee”), whose address is P. O. Box 4544, Houston, Texas 77210-4544."
You tell me if they are the same.
As exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More
