In a lease 5.2 miles northeast from Attoyac, in a Wildcat Field, the Red River 619 No.2 Well No.1 will be drilled by Common Resources, L.L.C. This well will bottom at 15,000-feet in the SP RR Co./Waterman, W M Survey, A-619.


Common Resources L.L.C. will drill the Owens Well No.1 in a Wildcat Field. The well will bottom at 15,000-feet 3.7 miles northeast from Attoyac in the Ward, M Survey, A-305. This well will be drilled in a Wildcat Field.



Completions:
San Augustine County

The Carthage, North Field has seen the Rudy Mitchell Well No.1H completed by XTO Energy Inc. 15.8 miles northwest of San Augustine. This well was gauged on a 48/64-inch choke and potentialed 5.602 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Bossier Shale formation.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
