cheerleader, it is actual initial production.
jffree1, according to my source: "the fracing method is the same whether in a vertical or horizontal well. It is pumping frac fluid -water that is gelled and mixed with frac sand - into the well. The pressure of the frac fluid actually creates fractures in the formation. Then the sand goes into the fracture. When you shut off the pressure of the frac the formation is held open with the sand. This allows for more production to flow out of the well".

Thanks Jffree1,
Sometime ago I was under the impression Cabot would AMEND and take the well horizontal. The permit, to date, does not show an amendment.
Lessor;
Have you heard if Cabot is going to AMEND and take KVG #3 horizontal?
When a well is "potentialed" at 10mcf etc. is the infomation a result of depth testing or actual initial production?

It's my understanding that the KVG #3 is a vertical 16000' well between KVG #1H and KVG #2H. How does "fracking" work on a vertical well? Just trying to understand the process, so any reply will be appreciated.

Thanks for all of the responses on the Katherine Von Goetz #3.
LESSOR: "Fracked" on the horizontal as a haynesville well or a James Lime well?
Merry Christmas to everyone both mineral owners and all employees of the O&Gs.

According to Cabot (I spoke with the in-house guys) the KVG #3 will be fracked (*?) sometime in January, and then we will know what it will do. Merry Christmas to all and a very prosperous New Year to all of you, and remember... Jesus is the reason for the season!!!

Merry Christmas to all my neighbors in San Augustine. Tell Santa you want a new NG well for Christmas. You never know...

CL, There has not been any production posted (RRC) for KVG #3 as of this morning. I can't remember seeing anything posted in the ET Drilling Report either.

Lessor or anyone else,
Has anyone heard any test results or production results from Cabot's Katherine Von Goetz #3 in the Kimbro Survey, San Augustine County.
