Oct. 5 was when he shared the news. Don't know what day he signed.

Last I heard about that area was when Farmbrad signed with Encana Oct. 5th. If anyone is leasing anywhere they are being real quiet about it.

Wish I could help you out ALongview. I am not sure how far South they have leased. I do know there is a well permitted to 14,400 ft(I believe) that is located 17.4 miles southeast of Broaddus. I saw it on the RRC website. Not sure what the well did or is doing. Would be nice to know. Anyone familiar with this well?

Does anyone know of anyone leasing or leased down in the area of the intersection of 147 and 1277? Or anything else down as far South as Broaddus?

JWC, since there is absolutely nothing to report in Sabine Co. I thought I'd check up on ya'll today. You're welcome.

Thanks for all the information jffree1. Also thanks for keeping us up to date as to what is going on in San Augustine County. Would be nice to see the entire county in the play. I feel like they will be edging south as more well data comes in. I will keep an eye on the A-164 in the Holmes Survey.

OOPS, for the CR 1017 tour you have to take either CR 1015 or CR 1023 from Hwy 96 and then take CR 1017 west where they all intersect. If you go anytime soon, the road we left Hwy 96 on had signs for: DeSoto Rig #20 and Hunt Petroleum - Nicholson #1 well. Keep following the Rig #20 signs...it's going to a new location on CR 1017. Most of the intersections have CR signs.

JWC, There is a new permit pending for SA Co. and it is several miles southwest of the county line area in A-164 (Holmes, C.) Survey. It is near the Attoyac River and still north of Hwy 103 but removed from the county line activity.

RED RIVER 164- Well # 1 TD 15000' VERTICAL API # 405-30246

I have to recommend a short tour of the oil(GAS)field on the county line between SA and Shelby Co.s. I rode out CR 1017 Saturday with an elderly cousin who wanted to check on his land in the area. CR 1017 leaves Hwy 96 in Shelby County and meanders westerly (it goes east too but I didn't go out that way) back and forth across the county line and comes out on FM 711 NW of San Augustine. It will take you through the heart of the county line activity (both sides) and is a real eye opener in regards to WHO is doing WHAT and WHERE. My cousin hasn't been out there since summer '06 and he was just awestruck at the number of wells that have appeared in that amount of time.
