We received a letter today from Seitel Data, Ltd requesting permission to conduct a seismographic survey on our property here in Shelby County. They are offering a whopping $15.00 and acre.
My questions are...
1. What are the wanting to do?
2. $15.00 an acre...are they for real?
3. What do we do?

If you think that's bad, I talked to someone today, that was offering $100.00 a mile...(go figure what part of a mile your land is, if it's only 3 acres of whatever.) I told him, people are not going to even talk to you at that price.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
