We currently own interest in over 1000 wells and we operate over 80% of our assets. We currently produce 50 million cubic feet per day of natural gas and equivalents on average, which will grow substantially with our significant development program.

NFR’s East Texas program is focused on development and extension of the Cotton Valley Sand formation, as well as the valuable Haynesville Shale. NFR’s properties cover Harrison, Rusk, Panola and Shelby counties in East Texas and are mostly in proven, well defined field areas. We are running an active drilling program to develop our over 1500 identified opportunities. Our program to date has established significant resources in the Cotton Valley Sands, as well as in the Haynesville Shale. We have begun a horizontal well development program in both the Cotton Valley Sands and in the Haynesville Shale and will be extensively applying this value enhancing technology in the future.

Looking on the RRC site, I do now see that NFR has had a number of other horizontals in Panola, Harrison, in the past year for Cotton Valley production.

Had not seen any horizontals for them in Shelby, so perhaps this will be their first?

Most of NFR's acreage not in Shelby..just left info here to show who they were since their name came up by "Geezer"..like that name

Thank you for your comment. I just joined this site and it is good to hear from people in the know.
Am I correct that this well is API 419-31360?
Do you have other plans in that area, as my wife holds 3 other leases in that vicinity?
I am a geezer and we are hopeful things work out so I can retire.

FYI - Devon just had an application approved for a horizontal completion just about 2 miles West of the NFR/Mitchell well. It will be their Adams Unit in the Nelson Howell survey.

That well should then give a really accurate assessment of what the reserves actually are for that region.

The NFR/Mitchell well I was referring to was API# 419-31360 which is located in far NW Shelby County.
The Devon Adams unit you refer to is in the Prospect Community, app. 6 mile north of Center. My brother in law has a Devon lease in the Tutt Survey, which is adjacent to the Howell.

Hey Geezer,

Yes, the info on the Mitchell well that I posted earlier was for well# 419-31360.

That Adams unit is directly underneath the Tutt Survey. Our minerals are in the J.McCormick which is directly to the right of the Tutt.

If you are talking about Ashabranner, H. A-4, it has the Chesapeake-Harvey #1H which is the topic of conversation in a couple of discussions, one in Shelby Co. Group and one on the main page.
The other Ashabranner survey (A-8?) shows no wells on the RRC GIS map.
