I live in the Woodpine sub.Has anyone in this area had offers or signed
leases? I rec'd a letter from lawyers Hargrove, Smelley, Strickland and
Langley stating that Greystone Oil and Gas wanted to force pool this area
for possible drilling sites.I was very upset but David Smelley assured
me that is not the intent of the company and that it would not prevent
me from signing a lease with any other company.I don't know what their
angle is,because I read that Greystone had partnered with Chesapeake
a while back. We need to get a neighborhood group coalition started
and make sure we get the best lease we can. I did sign a permit to allow
Chesapeake to do seismograph testing on my property.I have heard of offers as high as $26,000 an acre with 26% royalty. Rumors?
I did read an article from an oil and gasman in Baton Rouge that stated
bonus money may get as high as 40,000 an acre but I think force pooling
would kick in before it got that high because people are not willing to hold out that long. If you live in the Bethany area stay informed and pass along any pertinent info on this website

Rosana,

Our subdivison got a company named Energy Consulting Services involved. They represent landowners and can help you organize and get you the best terms and conditions possible. Their number is 798-5868
I have not heard of force pool being done, although it could. The main reason is public relations. The companies are trying to come off as being good neighbors...ie, the recent $100,000 check to some charitable organization.

But please keep us informed on this matter.

As far as $40,000/acre...I have not heard that. Highest around here I have heard of is $30k/acre. But then again, I hear a lot of things but see very little that I can confirm!
