There's a Chesapeake horizontal well digging in the next section over in Section 14 (T16N, R15W), Serial No. 236110. Nothing showing up on the SONRIS site for Section 13, yet.
Thanks for the prompt response. Would you know whether that well is in my unit??? How about activity in Sec 18, T16N-R14W and Sec 36,T16N-R15W? Is there a website where we can track well sites or potential well sites? The newspaper in that area had a Google map link that had dig sites but it was dated 2007 and hasn't been updated.
Hi Nina,

Google SONRIS and once on that website, click on SONRIS Lite. Then under, Well Information, click on Wells by Section, Township and Range.

You'll need to enter the information like this:

018 for Section,
16N for Township, and
14W for Range. (No activity showing there yet).

036, 16N, 15W shows well #236389 with a spud date Dec. 21, 2007 and it appears it's still awaiting completion.

Hope that helps!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
You can also search by field, try number 4780, that is the field in the Keithville area, it will show you all the wells and their activity, simply look at the township and range and the section number to locate this on a map. HTH.
Thanks Tom. I appreciate the help. I'm in CA and feeling out of the loop! (HTH?)
Hope That Helps (HTH).
Thanks, I'm still learning.
Sonris shows 2 wells in our Section, Township and Range, one active since Oct. '07, one waiting on frac 7/14/08. Just received an offer to sign a lease. What does this mean?
When you say we...I'm assuming you mean dj V & A1 right? I would not sign anything until I speak to my neighbors and an attorney. I don't know why you haven't received a lease or royalities for the 07 well.

From what I understand, the gas is located in a rock formation, the shale. The shale has to be fractured to make a vein and a pipeline inserted to get the gas out. That's what I was told from Tauren Exploration.
There may be some discrepancy in what section our land is in. Tax records show one section and the red river waterway commission designated a different section on their documents filed during the red river development 14 years ago. Do you know if there is a map that will let you view a specific section at a time. The section on the plat is hard to follow once you get south of Jimmie Davis Bridge.
