Chesapeake is trying to unitize and force pool section 26 in Keithville.If they unitize the section that would probably mean that the larger land owners in the section would end up with the gas and the smaller land owner would end up with nothing. They where in Baton Rouge yesterday Dec. 9th making this move People need to write the state and put a stop to this now. If this goes threw Im sure other sections will follow and here we go again the rich keep getting rich and the poor just stay poor

I live on the west side of Southern Ridge rd. We got 20K Per acre with 25% royalty but that was back during the "big boom" last September. Nobody is offering this now. The original lease is for 3 years and if they renew for two more years they have to give us our entire bonus again. There are no surface rights as well. I only own 1.43 acres. Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
