I'm looking to hear any information concerning wells, proposed locations and any other drillinginformation in the parish.
I know the Murphy well in the Weyanoke area is a good well, and there is "supposed" to be talk of another in that area, but where? I also understand there is supposed to be a well in the works around Highway 61 in the Laurel Hill area.
Can anyone confirm these or any others?

Dr. Hanchey property west of the Murphy well is the rumor for next Devon pad sight.
There is an existing Encana pad site on the John Willis property near Laurel Hill. No recent activity at this site.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
