Concordia Parish Question: Does anyone have any information about some Tuscaloosa wells in Concordia Parish drilled back in the 1980's? There were six or seven of them drilled to 10,000 feet and they produced for over 10 years in some cases. They were drilled on Vidal Island. I am curious because this is way northeast of the present Tuscaloosa Marine Shale play that is going on. Would this suggest that the play extends this far northeast? Just wanted to throw that out there and see what comes back. Thanks, C Bell

Don't see St. Helena Parish listed here.  Just wondering what's going on there.  We haven't been contacted for a lease yet.

Comment by Bridgette on May 19, 2012 at 14:05

East Baton Rouge Parish is not listed here either!

Baton Rouge: The State Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. The Board collected more than $2 million in bonuses in the January lease sale, making the total collected for FY 11-12 more than $18.6 million.

At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 24 leases covering more than 5,517 acres, out of 50 nominated tracts covering more than 44,900 acres.

The Board sold leases in Allen, Bienville, DeSoto, East Carroll, Evangeline, Iberia, Jefferson Davis, Natchitoches, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, St. Landry and St. Martin parishes. Of the 24 tracts awarded, 6 were in north Louisiana and 18 were located in the southern parishes.

Anyone have any recommendations for landowners in a subdivision(225 acres)? We are considering a lot owner's association meeting to discuss a group lease agreement for the subdivision. A well is being planned on a tract of land adjacent to our subdivision, but no one in our subdivision is leased yet. We are in the TMS. I am hoping someone with experience forming a group in the Haynesville or elsewhere can offer us some advice.
