I was just out at the Devon site in Morehouse Parish (10/16/2011). Every thing looks exactly them same as it has the last two weeks. It would appear that everything is in place with engines running but with no apparent drilling, or any other activity in progress. I was at the gate hoping someone would make an appearance so I could possibly ask a question or two. There are people out there as I counted 8 pickups. I did not want to knock on a trailer as I could possibly wake someone. But anyway that’s that. Wish I had some news.
Ok Mr. Peel...again...thanks much. I will attempt to keep things as updated as I can, or am allowed to. The guys you see out there are friendly acting but make no attempt to approach you so questions, at this point, are nonexistent. The one gentleman we talked briefly to Monday did, in fact, us the phrase “tight hole”.
Ok was out on the Morehouse Parish Devon site today and it has not changed since I was out there this past Monday. When you saw someone it was an individual. When I was in the business years ago there was always activity. They had the Danger Hydrogen Sulfide Gas sign out with the Green, Yellow and Red colors identified and the Green flag was flying.
We also viewed a man about half way up the tree, in a safety harness, taking care of business so I am assuming drilling was not in progress. As I said it looks the same today as it did this past Monday in my picture. It would appear things are in “neutral”.
Could they be waiting for orders or authorization or specialists?
Regardless…it’s a fascinating thing…if I had another career in me, my application would be on file. I told my wife this...the less said the better.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
