While researching for some maps back here in the GHS archives, I ran across the ever elusive wildlife photog, SH "Itchybod" M as he was attempting to do a piece for National Geographic on the wild horses of NW LA. Let's check in ...

foal: Yo, yo ... doan be dissin' my Momma!!! Doan nobody talk about her booty in my presence wi'out lookin' fo' a smackdown. And gimme that camera, you betta see her "agent" if you wanna get a shot of "all that."

SH, give up the camera, back away slowly for the vehicle. Those frisky young foals can wreak havoc when they go into "mutant ninja turtle" mode.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
