I would demand my lease back, plain and simple. Anyone who says one thing and does another shouldn't on your shortlist to do business with. I am not sure, but Cabot might be paying more than $500, I know they are still in the area...it depends on where your land is. They won't pay you anywhere near 5k, then again I don't think anyone will.
