Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??
In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

Joseph, not much leasing going on presently considering the state of the natural gas focused O&G industry. Depending on location in Sabine Parish, I can give you my opinion regarding future likelihood of receiving a lease offer. I would need the section-township-range. I do not advise any mineral owner to go seeking a lease. The process doesn't work like that. If a company wishes to drill on your minerals, they will contact you. The only action you can take in that regard is to make sure that your ownership is clearly evidenced in the public records of Sabine Parish. By the way, do not reply to "Joy/Stella" (below) as that is a phishing email from a scammer.
