Aethon - DUC Wells across East Texas

Does anyone know why Aethon has drilled, but not completed, so many haynesville/bossier wells across East Texas? Enverus (Drilling Info) is showing there to be 50+ wells that they've drilled in 2023 that haven't been completed. A large portion of these wells were spud in early 2023. I'm assuming this is due to natural gas prices and/or pipeline issues, but I've never known them to do such until this year.Any ideas? Thanks,RichardSee More

"You may be right. It's still hard for me to believe that the EURs in that area are not sufficient to drill a well(s) considering that 2.5 miles away from the area I mentioned, there's a well Haynesville well that's made nearly 17 bcf…"

Haynesville/Bossier Shale - Geology and Fault Map - Nacogdoches County

Hello All-- Does anyone have a geology and/or fault map of Southwest Nacogdoches County, Texas that they'd be willing to share?  The area I'm interested in is located just to the Northwest of Sam Rayburn Reservoir on the Nacogdoches/Angelina County line. Basically, I'm trying to figure out if the Haynesville/Bossier Shale is present in this area and to what extent. Most of the existing production in this part of the County is in the James Lime or Travis Peak formations.  Thank you very…See More

"To amend a unit, the operator will have to file a new unit designation with the RRC and the county(s).  The new unit must comply with any applicable field and spacing rules for any existing wells, as well as any proposed wells within the strata…"

Chad Ellis replied to Richard's discussion Haynesville/Bossier Well Spacing
"Attached is a snap shot of the field rules.  Basically, the are no restrictions on wellbore spacing within unit.  However, operators have there own spacing based on the geology of the area and their stimulation procedures.  As far as…"

Richard replied to david entrekin's discussion Aethon payments
"David-- I've noticed the same in Texas. I've compared Aethon's gas 'sales' price (not market price) to other operators gas 'sales' price in my area and on average Aethon is paying 10% less. In addition to that,…"
