Hello JT, after a well is plugged it will sometimes be reopened later, but that depends on why it was plugged. Sometimes it is depleted at the depth origianlly drilled to, and it may be re-opened to drill to a deeper zone, drilled horizontally or used for a disposal well. Other times it is plugged because there are expensive drilling problems. If a well is not producing at a paying rate then it may be 'shut in' which is not the same as plugged. The time allowed, the reasons for the shut in and the work required to keep a well under lease while shut in should be in your lease.
