The Haynesville Shale will Even Help the Elitist Heat their Home

You see it inside the beltway and everywhere else; A lack of appreciation for the contributions of rural America. Sometimes it's subtle, but it's there alright. Take this line from a Forbes' article, using a worn and tired theme, by Jesse Bogan on the Haynesville Shale.

"...the stream of shale lurks two miles under the pastures, trailer homes and piney woods of the region."

Full Tired Story

Being a guy that grew up in rural Indiana; it's these stereotypes that just irk me. The needless, and false, use of a stereotype to create the type of story an urban elitist can sink his ego into. Do people in the Ark-La-Tex and similar rural areas live in Trailer homes - sure, but they also live in single family homes, drive cars, go to work, raise their kids and oh yeah, they feed and heat America so an elitist like Jesse Bogan can keep their ass warm.

People like that who wrote the story in Forbes, probably came from the Ark-La-Tex area and have forgotten their roots. It's sad to say that it sounds as though there are only trailers as housing in the area. My grandparents never lived in a trailer. They built there home in the early 1920's and farmed 80 acres by themselves. My parents lived in a very large brick home off of Hwy 175 on almost 3 acres before my dad died. Who cares what the elite say. Their talk is cheap. Like one says, where does there milk and vegatables and meat come from. If the supply were cut off from farmlands, the big city folks would be in a world of trouble. They'd starve to death. Thank goodness for people like those of DeSoto Parish and surronding areas. At least there is peace of mind and an uncomplicated way of life unlike those on wall street. How many people in this area go to federal prison for trying to scheme someone out of their money or funds to get rich quick or have the IRS on their tails daily. I'm sure at that point, they wish they were back at home where their relatives grew up and did not have to deal with the BIG CITY hussle and bussle. Kuddos to NW Louisiana.

Makes me mad but what do you do with people who think that milk and produce come from the grocery store? Can't argue with them because they are not aware that their lives are missing anything.

"Six Degrees of Separation" starring Will Smith & Stockard Channing. :0)

In a recent interview, Dolly Parton was asked to what she attributed her success. Her answer ... "I may look like a woman, but I think like a man." She went on to elaborate that she could walk away from a negotiations table before the "other side" even knew what hit them. Well hello Dolly! ha, ha
