Thanks for your response Insomniacnla, I will try some of the things you suggested. Unfortunately, one thing I had already tried was emailing and since I didn't get a response, I thought I would find out what you had done. It has only been a couple of days so I'm not too concerned yet. If I don't hear back from them, I am going to contact their office in Shreveport and their attorney in Shreveport as well as the CHK site. I'll also be contacting them by certified letter. Thanks again, I hope ya'll see a rig over ya'lls way soon. There are a few between here and there so it shouldn't be long!
Hello Insomniac: We and a friend of ours own some mineral rights on west 1/3 of Sec. 21 T15n R14W. I heard today that part of that section is help by production and that is why no one has permitted a well there yet. Have you found out anything about that. Wells are being permitted all over 15n14w except 21, 20,19. You can email me at: oldtex78@yahoo.com. Thanks
Hi Insomniacla, I am seeking info on a post you made recently but I don't know where it is so I'll just ask. I remember you mentioning to someone on here that you contacted Chesapeake directly awhile back when you were unleased and seeking bids. You gave a link to their site and I remember it; what I am wondering is, when you got to their site, where did you go then. Did you send an email to a specific department or exactly what did you do, if you remember.
I am at the point of needing to get their attention since the Nelson 18-H-1 is finished with the drill and should be getting ready for whatever is next and I am still unleased. I need to find out what their intentions are and how they plan on compensating me. If I can't resolve things with them myself, I will take a legal route.
Thanks for your input.
Congratus on finally signing (per your post in DeSoto Parish Network) for a good deal. I've been reading your posts for months, watching you as you held out. Well done.
I noticed some of the problems you mentioned with your computer. I have had some similar problems in the past. Try this. With your Explorer page open, go to tools, then to internet options and first delete your files and then your cookies. See if that helps. If not, last try updating your Adobe Acrobat. Hope this helps.
Kassi has the old lease posted here on this website in that Discussion. Every time I have been to the DeSoto courthouse in the last few months, there have been at least 15 people in there searching the records, most are landmen. Unless you wait in line to use one of the 2 or 3 computers, you will have to run the records manually. If you are going to try and run a mineral search, it is going to be much more complicated than just searching the title on your property. I am not trying to talk you out of it at all, just be prepared to spend more than an hour. You should look at the land transactions of the person you purchased your property from, the person he purchased the property from and so on and so on, until you go back to the lease in 1955. Then you have to look at the well records in all of the sections listed in the old lease. Then you have to look at the depths of the wells, also you have to check the size of the unit for the well to see how much of any particular section does the well "hold by production" (in Sec. 21, there are a couple of wells in those sections that are 4,200 ft. with the unit only being 160 acres), etc.
Or, from the comfort of your own home,
you could just leave a comment on Kassi's page and I am sure she will share what she has found out so far. I know that she has spent at least 8 or 10 hours running the mineral check for your section already. She has an attorney that she hired also.
Hey Will and Donna.
I saw where Kassi put in a blog where she owned the minerals in her section. Maybe we own ours as well. I am going to try to make it to the courthouse friday and research my area.
I did not think to check my spam folder but I just did and your email is there. I don't know why it happened since we have corresponded that way before. LOL Thank you for the email.

Would you mind sending me your email address in order to contact you regarding a question?
Hope all is well with your family after the storm. We lost power but no damage to speak of.

Don't know what's going on with your account. Sometimes this thing gets hiccups in the system. Good to hear from you.
