Les replied to Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant's discussion I'm interested in your opinion: US was top LNG exporter in 2023 as hit record levels
"Given all the variables and uncertainties, IMO one could make an argument for $2 or $10 gas.  Wish I knew. Given the thesis of the above article of higher LNG exports, one would think simply greater demand would result in slowly increasing…"

MidCon Gathering, LLC Division Order

Given the recent slowdown in HS activity and since it's been a few years since I've received a new division order I was surprised to receive one last week from a MidCon Gathering, with the operator being an Adams Oil Production, LLC, neither groups of which I am familiar with. I thought I would run this past the group to see if anyone else has received the same and if they know anything about the wells. This is for Caddo Parish, Sec 4, T20N, R15W. Thanks.See More

Lethargic Natural Gas Prices During Epic Summer Heat

Can someone explain to me why NG prices seem to be unaffected by the relentless summer heat across much of the country? Yes, NG storage tanks have been nearly full due to the mild winter and LNG shipping having been offline for many months. But in recent years, summer heat of this magnitude would have been bullish for NG prices as strained energy suppliers would have to resort to NG on the margins to meet AC demand. Not this summer. Nat Gas seems stuck in the $2.50/btu range.See More

Les replied to Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant's discussion Higher LNG exports to drive up US natgas prices, EIA projects
"Not sure how the EIA came up with these future HH price projections. With a projected HH price range only between $3.30 and $4.30 over the next 30 years, that seems to indicate last year's price spike was anomaly that won't be repeated. I…"

Best way to pass mineral rights to next generation

After reviewing many of the posts regarding mineral rights inheritance in Louisiana, I could not find a reply to one poster's question on the value of forming family LLCs to hold mineral rights.  Evidently, many LA attorney's recommend them but I have yet to see anyone list compelling reasons for relatively small mineral rights owners to go to the expense to form one.

In my case,  I collect relatively small royalties from some 40 wells scattered on many small lots spread throughout…

Pipeline Easement Lease Rate

I apologize if this issue has been talked about before on this blog but I have not been able to locate any discussion on it. Has anyone been approached by an energy company to sign a pipeline easement contract? If so does anyone know what the going rate is in the Haynesville Shale is? I was offered a "per rod" price for the lease but I have no idea if it is a fair offer. Thanks
