We heard 2 wells were completed and producing in Sections 16 and 17 T15--one of the wells is named Tullos? Does anyone know what's going on with those or who to contact to find out?

Pam. We need the full section - township - range information to help answer your question. Every township has a Section 16 and 17. And T15, which we will assume is 15N, needs a range to go with it, for example T15N - R15W or 15N - 15W. There are nine township 15N's in the HS play.
The legal description says tract of land lying and situated in Caddo and Bossier parishes in Sec 16 and 17, T15N, R11W, on the left descending bank of Red River and being mor particularly described as:
Beignning at the sec corner common to sec 8,9,16 and 17, T15N, R11W run east alongthe section line between sec 9 and 16 for distance of 300 ft to a pt on the riverward toe of the Red River Levee, the run southerly along said riverward toe 800 ft to a pt at levee st 2375+20 then easterly crossing levee at a right angle 80 ft to a pt on the landward toe of the Red river Levee station 2375+20 the southerly along landward toe 270 ft etc etc----we have approx 296 acres total in this Elm Grove area..
Know anything?
Can I come coonhunting? :-)
Pam,
According to sonris, the Tullos well is complete. It was drilled by Petrohawk from Section 16, and runs under Section 17. It looks pretty good -- an IP of 8349 mmcfe/day, on a 14/64 choke with 8625# of pressure. I'd take that well any day. It started producing in September 2009, and the first full month of produciton looks good. With 296 acres, you should be getting some darn good checks in a few months. Congratulations.
thanks but we also heard from someone that there was another well on the property that was not reported yet? Anyone know anything about that.
One more question..how can I be sure we are in that pool..would everyone in those sections and township be in the pool? This may sound stupid but hey I sell real estate not gas wells.
thanks again for any explainations.
Should we go over and visit the sites ??
hello neighbor. we have 100+ acres in sec 17 t15n-r11w. ours joins other property in sections 18, 7, &8. Our minerals in 17 are unleased at the moment. We would love to hear about another well or if you get any other corespondance from petrohawk.
Pam,
According to sonris, there is, indeed, a second well in 16-15-11. It is called the Poole Antrobus 16H and is sonris #239918. The driller is Chesapeake. The well was spud in June 2009. This well appears to drain Section 21, however, not Section 16. Sonris reported on 1-20-2010 that "Well Potentialed." You ought to be getting IP numbers fairly soon.
So does this mean that it does not pay sec 16? When you say drain, are you referring to horizontal drilling and the well is actually on sec 16 but pulling gas from sec 21?
Guess that would mean we are out of luck on that one? Is that right? What do you mean by IP number?
Pam,
The surface location of the Tullos well is in the NW corner of Section 16, and it will drill down to the west, and then turn due south through Section 17. The surface location of the Poole Antrobus well is in the SW corner of the section, and it goes south into Section 21. It does not appear that either of these wells will pay out to the owners of minerals in Sec. 16.
Now, having said that.... My notes show that Section 16 has been unitized by Chesapeake. So it is only a matter of time until your section will be drilled. Maybe in a few months gas prices will be higher, and you'll make out better than if you had been drilled today.
Finally, "IP" refers to Initial Production. If you go to www.sonris.com, and choose "Sonris Lite," you can monitor all of the well activity in your section and any others. It is very easy. You can see the plats that show the locations of all these wells. If you need help, let me know. Good luck. You'll get your due soon.
do you have rights in 17?
Pam, Henry is correct that the following well actually produces from Section 21 and the mineral owners in that section/unit will share in the revenue. The well should have been named the Poole Antrobus 21 #H1 Well.

Chesapeake, Poole Antrobus 16(21) #H1 Well, Serial #239918, S16(21)-T15N-R11W
Pam, there are no permitted Haynesville Shale wells yet that would produce from Section 16 in T15N-R11W. Your section has been unitized.

S16-T15N-R11W, HA RB SUEE Unit, Chesapeake, Caspiana Field, Bossier Parish
