EnCana has included a significant amount of new information in the attached presention.  The new well rate information for both the Haynesville and Mid-Bossier Shale plays is very interesting.

Very nice. Thanks Les.
Wow, this is a fantastic presentation!! Thanks Les B! Assuming other companies in the play are planning ramping up activity, as well they should, it seems 2010 will be a busy year for Haynesville Shale! Naysayers take note of Encana's jewel in the shale gas exploration industry.
Les, How long do you think it will be until O & G extends the eastern boundaries of their maps? I understand they want to hbp as much as they can before they have another " go round" at large-scale leasing, but how long can they hold out?
Taylor, I believe they will remain "mum" for some time as they go into another round of leasing acreage.
Looking at those maps

Natchitoches should see a lot more action this year and years to come
Thanks Les,
These charts continue to show great results for northern Sabine Parish.
San Augustine folks check out slide 22. 2010 Objectives: San Augustine extension.
William,

If my memory serves me correctly, you have an interest in Sec. 7-16n-14w. Looks like it is a hell of a well. You might check it out.
Here's another good article:

Unconventional shale gas plays in Louisiana and Texas’ Haynesville, and British Columbia and Alberta’s Monteny and Horn River zones will be EnCana’s three major sources of growth. Most of the enlarged budget will head to the Haynesville, Mr. Eresman said.

North Americans consume about 70 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day. While EnCana hopes this will grow, Mr. Eresman is not counting on rising demand to support his growth ambitions.

“We will be forcing out the higher-cost producers. And we’ve already been doing that. In the last couple of years there was a lot of natural gas production being developed in North America that required US$8, US$9, US$10 prices in order to be developed.”

Companies with access to vast sources of natural gas -- in spots where it can be produced on the cheap -- will come out on top. Those that can continue to push expenses down through technology will survive, Mr. Eresman said.

Les, Would you say that the blue outline on haynesville/bossier map is what they are referring to as the "San Augustine Extension"?. The purple in Sabine Parish is clearly defined as the JV/AMI but the blue was not clear. Also, where is the well with the IP of 37mmcf that Encana drilled?
AL, the blue outline must refer to the "Jagger" prospect which I believe would correspond to the "San Augustine Extension" in San Augustine, Nacogdoches & Sabine Counties.

I do not know the specific location of the 37 MMcfd well but thinking Red River-Bull Bayou Field.
Thanks Les, and as always very much appreciated.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
