I've been on active duty for the past 6 months and my wife informed me that we are being contacted about a lease for our mineral rights by Twin Cities.

Does anyone have any advice or current leasing rates for my area?

I used to belong to the Kingston Road-Bert Kouns Coalition but I think they've disolved.

Thanks

Thank you. I expected as much as far as the lease offer. I was planning on sitting tight with my lease anyway, unless I move at which point I'll take the best offer I can get.
The leasing coalition for S10 signed about a year ago. 80)
I am at Kingston Rd and Ridgecrest and Twin Cities is offering me $4,000 per acre, and 25% royalties. Is this good ?I haven't heard anything from Kingston Rd Bert Kouns Group, so I figure something is better than nothing, especially seeing the well right there off Kingston near Mt. Zion Rd.
Penny - To answer your question, "Is this good?", only you can decide for yourself based on your situation, how confident you feel understanding the lease terms, what value you place on your property and minerals. There is much more to leasing than just getting money, it is a legal, binding contract that can be in force for many, many years.

I can make no recommendations as I'm not experienced or expert. You may want to consider whether you need qualified, experienced legal advice, too.

best & good luck 80)
Penny, it looks like another well pad is going in off Shady Ln. Saw them bulldozing that yesterday. You are in Sec. 3. I thought the well pad on Kingston Rd. would drill north, south, west (where you are) and east, but this new pad may drill you. I have property in 3 also
I have also been contacted by Twin Cities and I am meeting with them next week. Does anyone have the name of a good Landman/Atty or someone that can help me decide? I have no idea what to ask for or what my options are as far as the revenue option. How does that work versus leasing? If I am posting in the wrong forum or off-topic I apologize for my rookie behaviour. Thanks
I found this website that is very informative on what are are all dealing with. I hope it helps those who are as unfamiliar with the whole lease process and rights as I am. It would be really helpful if someone had stats on any existing production in our area. Thanks ShaleGeo for the contact info!

Chris, there is a wealth of information on the site. Much of it is contained in the archives and the group pages. There are links to some basic information in the left hand column of the Main Page. For production information and all data made available by the state, check out the SONRIS Help Center.

I'm a distant part owner of an unleased 200 acre property at 9595 Mansfield Road in what I think qualifies as "So. Caddo" parish (I'm not even certain what the boundaries are of No and So Caddo on this website). I've looked everywhere trying to learn how to identify what section, etc. this property falls within so I know which message boards to read and how to look up information on the Soneris site...I found one map with outlined boxes that made me think it might be section 16, but I'm just not sure. Can you or anyone help me identify this plot of land so I can make better use of this website? Thank you...
Beth. We tend to use I-20 as the dividing line although some fields straddle the interstate corridor. Mansfield Road would be S. Caddo. It would appear that your property lies in Section 8 or 9 of 16N - 14W. As there is current activity in this area, you should be able to find some information in the S. Caddo Group discussions.
Beth,
If you have the tax bill, it will contain the legal description of your land. That will tell you where the property is.
