OH, the Logansport Field has a number of disappointing Haynesville wells. This well has a short lateral but other than that there is no obvious problem. As Chesapeake has drilled a ton of disappointing wells in the Logansport Field, it has been speculated that the area is much better for the Bossier Shale. I hope that is the case but I doubt that Chesapeake or other operators in this area will be in a rush to drill Bossier wells at current low natural gas prices.

hey skip,
do you think that the surrounding townships that make up the logansport field have relatively the same low output potential,or, can results vary considerably in adjoining sections? i am in sec 17 11-15 and waiting on some news regarding IP results in that area; understand that this well is getting ready to frac.

shelby, I'm headed out the door to AR. You can look at all the completed wells around S17 - 11N - 15W on SONRIS. Just follow the directions in this link:

I don't know what is going on with this well, and to try to get any answers is like pulling teeth. All I can say is that when our contract comes up for renewal, and that is in November, I'm gonna do A LOT of thinking about it. I didn't even get a check in April, which is what they drilled in February, which was one of the coldest months. I would have thought this would have been the check would have been good, I was shocked when it wasn't. I received $175 this month for April and May and I own 15 acres. Your guess is as good as mine.

Some wells in 11N-15W are showing some very disappointing well results. I don't think it is your particular well (or section), just that area in general. I have heard someone mention that the geology in that area isn't beneficial for haynesville development. It didn't come from a geologist, so it may mean nothing at all.

I too, like skip, hope the bossier shale is more production, but it may be some time before we see development there......

I count 11 wells in 11-15 that had IP over 5 mmcf and 4 wells over 10 mmcf. The average IP of the ones I have is 6.6 mmcf and the median IP for the wells in the township is around 6.3 mmcf. Really not that bad?

Of course, we can hope the mid-Bossier is even better.

This is a simple spreadsheet of completed wells I gathered from www.haynesvilleplay.com and a couple of unknowns so far (Sec's 17 and 16). I understand from another thread that Sec 8 has a 3-4 mmcf well.
