EnCana Permits Third Haynesville Shale Well in T12N-R8W (5/14/10)

EnCana has permitted another Haynesville Shale well in the Liberty Field and T12N-R8W. The well pad is located just west of Hwy 507 (Hankins Rd) in Section 4 and this location is further east than any previous Haynesville Shale well.

The farther east the better for me since I have land in the Saline area. AS the crow flies, itis only a few miles to the new pad just west of Ashland.

There has been no leaseing activity here at all since this (HS) started.

I have heard that there are many leases that will expire this fall and after that and with the new budget at the first of the year leasing active will increase in our area.
Added the well permit with plat.
Les, have you seen a TVD that is deeper?
Yes, in Sabine & Natchitoches Parish. You really have to wait until the well is drilled to get a complete picture of the depth as the permits are just ballpark.
Has a completion been reported with CP or FP in excess of 10,000 psi? At these extreme TVD's, I would think it probable.
Skip, highest reported flowing pressure in Louisana. The well had a TVD of 13701 ft.

EnCana, LeRoy Adcock 17 #H1 Well, Serial #239794, S17-T13N-R8W, Red River Parish, 17003 Mcfd, 22/64" Choke, 9942 psi Flowing Pressure
At that choke setting, it's an impressive psi. Any idea the depth/temp/pressure that current technology can remain operable?
Skip, that is reason I said it may be one of the best Haynesville Shale wells to date. I am not sure what is the current technology limit but we will probably find out in the next 1-2 years as operators test the southern limits of the play.
Les, I have minerals in 12/8, Section 6 so I want all the wells in the area to be great, but the actual production numbers through April, 2010 for the Leroy Adcock 17 H#1 would hardly indicate that it was one of the best wells in the play. In fact the six month production numbers are quite mediocre, in spite of the high initial flowing pressure. Any explanation?
SB, if you notice the well is now producing on a smaller choke size of 14/64" which is restricting the flow rate. There may be various reasons for EnCana taking this action but I suspect there are still limitiations on takeaway and treating capacity in the region. I actually consider the well to be performing well as the flowing pressure is still 8174 psi. This would indicate the well may able to produce at a rate over 10 MMcfd even after producing over 1.2 Bcf cumulative.
Those were the words of encouragement I was hoping for. The well must have been shut in part of April, or else they were producing it on a smaller than 14/64 choke, because it averaged about 4.5 million/day for tyhe month of April. Thanks, Les.
Les, Do you know the status of the Sustainable well.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling
