I have new PC with Windows 7 and IE 8 plus new security system. When I log on to this web site gohynesvilleshale.com I get notice "Malicious Spyware has been successfully blocked access to website 173.244.198.132"

i ran across a bunch of factory assembled machines with vista64 specifically that not only had software issues but all sorts of hardware recognition tomfoolery, most of the time i would just tell the owner to replace the component with something that is known compatible and move on, it's not worth hours and hours of trying workarounds. nvidia pci graphics cards were a common culprit.
I run ATI video cards on my AMD based computers.
Ubuntu just works and it costs nothing!
Neither do any of the thousands of programs that will do about anything windows will do cost anything.
I said goodbye to Windows a long time ago...
No malware, no viruses nor having to run all those special cleaner programs like you have to run in Windows.
I kind of miss all the excitement staying ahead of hackers when I was running Windows! Nah....
I have never had problems with Windows XP, Vista and now 7. I had plenty of problems before XP.
I never had any problems either so long as I maintained them with programs to keep the hacker creeps out. That's the rub I had with Microsoft (got to be a chore) as well has having to fork over money for their software. I found there's a better way and it doesn't cost anything. I build my own computers and it can cost as much if not more to put software on them if running a Microsoft operating system than all the parts. I found that for every Microsoft (Paid) type software program, there's generally an open source program that will do the same thing and it's free as well. Microsoft has everyone brainwashed into thinking they are the only game in town. I've never had a Mac but I heard that it's expensive as well.
Sure there's a learning curve but then it was the same with Microsoft. What I like about Ubuntu operating system is I've never had any issues with all that malware-spyware clutter. Either it's not easy to hack or the hackers hadn't take the time to do so. Exe type files will not run on Ubuntu without a lot user involvement. I've even downloaded suspect files and tried to run them. Ubuntu just ask what do I want to do? Says it cannot find a program to associate with that file.
For someone with a Windows computer, you can run Ubuntu along side Windows in a dual boot configuration. Also you can run Ubuntu from a CD without even installing it. That alone is valuable should a virus have eaten your Windows to the point it won't start. You can use your Ubuntu CD to get downloads to fix your Windows.
It just works!
Some people just don't know not to click on something that pops up on their screen. If I can't kill it without touching it I power the computer down. I haven't had to do that in quite some time. I have been using tools from PC PITSTOP for about 2 years, that seem to keep me up and running at full speed. P.G. if I was 20 years younger I may try something new but learning Microsoft for over the past 20 years helps me to know their product. I have seen times in products pre XP when I would have left and said to hell with Microsoft but as of now I am very happy with their product. I may spend the money and buy Windows 7 for this computer, but at this point I will play with the other computer that has 7 on it, my son is running that one next to me in my office. Now he may try Ubuntu at some point. I would think that having a PHD in Linux would be a geeks dream come true.
on general principle if my customers don't want it, i don't have time for it. but you've about convinced me to try it, pg.

builders list your hardware! what processors you guys running? i've got a very early intel core 2 1.8ghz running at 3.0 on stock air! running like a top for almost 3 years now.
I am running 1000 watts of power, 9950 Quad Core AMD processor chip running at 2.62 GHz, water cooled, 8 gigs of ram, Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe motherboard, Two Asus EAH 5670 1 GB Video cards and two 24 inch HD Screens.
I'm sure 2 dog's computer is more than adequate!

I've run Ubuntu with less than a gig of memory (512MB) but it runs better with a gig or more. I prefer nvidia chip graphic cards over ATI. Driver support from nvidia is better.
Hi end machines can take full advantage of all the bells and whistles Ubuntu is capable of though. Anything that will run vista should be fine though.
If there's ever a question about compatibility, a search will generally answer it. There's mountains of information about Ubuntu on the net. Any problem I ever ran into, I was always able to google it and find the fix.
It isn't much different learning to use Ubuntu than windows. Both function about the same. The names of things are kind of weird though. Just like firefox versus IExplorer. Both do the same thing but their settings aren't in the same places, etc or called the same..
For someone with a window's machine, I would suggest running Ubuntu along side windows as a dual boot. Then you can play with Ubuntu and still have your windows until you get use to it. There are some good Youtube videos that show how to install it with windows. In most cases, you won't even need to install drivers for hardware like motherboard, scanners or printers, etc. They are already in there. They just work!
Say goodbye to all that malware-spyware nonsense and all the programs needed to keep the computer clean! Even if you come across that pesky malware program on the net that pops up that claims it detects you have a virus or spyware on your computer and asks you to run their scan. Go ahead and click on it. It can't install on Ubuntu! I wouldn't advise that if you were running windows! A friend came to me after he clicked on that on his windows machine and it trashed his computer. Wouldn't let you open anything with that box popping up to buy their program. I had to go into safe mode and run system restore.
The only thing I found I don't like about Ubuntu, being that it's Open source, it doesn't initially install some needed proprietary software like Java and shockwave. You'll have to install that yourself but it's still free. Something to do with copyrights. Not a big issue though.
that is beastly, i've always wanted to try water cooling. sli is a sweet touch too. i'm going to have to start calling you greased lightning.
What kind of temps is that running?
1.8 to 3.0 is quite a bump!
just surfing, 63C or so, heavy load, 66-67 usually. slightly higher than stock voltage, i'd have to look in my bios to tell you exactly. some folks don't like the idea of oc'ing but i say who wants to use a processor for it's rated lifetime, light that puppy up.
