Is anyone aware of any real activity around Shelbyville? My family has a lease with Chesapeake in the William J. Thomas survey. Just trying to stay informed.

Then go to: Shelby Couny
Look under all the postings that are listed there.

Also, you can go to google and put in the following: What is information on the William J. Thomas Survey, leased by Chesapeake, near Shelbyville, Texas, in Shelby County, Texas?
Once you've done that and googled it: All kinds of information sites should come up if the William J. Thomas Survey is mentioned on the site.
In fact, it may be a little overwhelming at first depending on what has happened in that survey and if there is activity in that survey. Good Luck!!

Emily-- you will find more up to date infomation if you go to the Texas RRC web site look on the GIS map viewer and zoom in on the William J. Thomas Survey you can see all wells drilled and all wells permitted

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
