Lots of bulldozers working east of original pad. Is this going to be another Encana Gas Factory?

small rig, sorry. Looks almost like a water driller. I have well on the brain
KCM - Oh, I gotcha.....I haven't a clue. I don't live in the area so getting up to date info is hard. I wonder if someone else knows what it is or could be. I'm assuming it has a different look than a "normal" rig, huh?
KCM, it could be a spudder rig that is used to set surface casing.
kittycatmama,

Could be a workover rig for an existing well. Where is it located on section 9?
Those are 2 pinnergy rigs,1 is on long rd.the other is behind it on red bluff rd.Both locations I think have 5 cellars each. They are doing surface casing!
Looks like the section 9 & 4 "gas factory" is starting to come alive.
Have you been by the location lately? Looks like a small city. Very impressive. I heard there are 2 rigs drilling simultaneously in Sec.9 now. One huge one can be seen from Long Rd.
kittycatmama,

Yep, lots of activity around Gloster these days. Here's a quick scan of drilling rigs in the Northwest corner of 14N/14W.

I was driving down Red Bluff on Friday and noticed that the area just west of Linwood intersection which is heavily wooded & swampy had huge machines clearing trees on both sides of the road. Each clearing made an entrance & then circled & made an exit on Red Bluff. If it were a pipeline, I would assume a straight entrance.
Lots of traffic in and out of Packert wells (sections 6 & 7), but nothing on DNR yet showing more wells
FXEF, how are you finding this exact info on each specific well? I typed the serial number in to LDNR for #241673 but only found info from July. Of course Sonris is behind as well. Please advise...thanks.
Parkdota,

I live in Gloster so the above list is a result of physically seeing the rigs. Baker Hughes Rig Counts and Les B's Drilling Rig Locations here on GHS are the best Web sources for rig locations.
Thanks for the info Bob & Lisa.

Surface Casing Drilling

Pinnergy added this service in July 2005, as an extension of the existing services provided by the conductor drilling rigs. The addition of the Schramm T130XD Rotadrill expanded this service to include the drilling and pre-setting of the surface casing, the next sequential step of the drilling process.

Drilling and pre-setting surface casing is a natural progression for the Company, because it capitalizes on management's expertise and existing knowledge of the business, and it provides Pinnergy with a comprehensive package of drilling-related services.

The rig does not need a separate Casing Crew.

Telescoping construction of the rig permits long head travel and working height to allow handling of range III casing, and with 130,000 lb hoist capacity.

By drilling and pre-setting the surface casing for the customer, a job that was previously performed by the larger drilling rigs, Pinnergy will reduce the amount of time it takes the customer to drill a well [with the larger rig] by approximately two or more (2 +) days.

Pinnergy's expansion into this service offering enables the customer to:
more effectively use the larger, more expensive drilling rigs,
drill more wells in a shorter period of time
significantly reduce costs and streamline operations and
maintain a safer drilling operation
