VSC, I think the timing will be dependent upon many factors such as rig count, land inventory, capital availability, gas pipeline takeaway capacity, etc. Each operator will optimize his drilling plans to maximize profits so you could get one unit in DeSoto Parish fully developed in three years while acreage in another parish (or even nearby in DeSoto) takes ten years to develop.

Hi Pilgrim,

Check out page 13 & 14 on Chesapeake 2008 Investor and Analyst Meeting - Session 2, 10/16/08. They show their drill plans for super pads on the section lines, drilling four horizontal wells north and four horizontal wells south. Thus, a total of eight wells per each section. If they actual drill under this plan, it will make for a very large royalty pay out, at least for the first year. This would be great for the mineral owner, however Aubrey has stated that they may just be drilling single per section verticals to HBP.

when they are drilling wells in a section, how many drill pads will have to be contructed or moved to get to the whole section?
