The guy who wrote this article is obviously an idiot. He makes it sound like everyone should love having a pipeline running through their backyard.
At $500/rod, I'll take all the pipelines I can get!
Hey Henry what if you could get $1750.00 per rod?
For that much, you can run any pipeline you want under my land. Who's paying $1750?
When you got them by the short hairs and you got all the money that you and your great great great grandkids could ever spend, and are one of the largest landowners in Northwest Louisiana you can call the shots.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
