the south arkansas horizontal well results

deltic stock is going nuts i guess because they have such a huge

mineral interest in the brown dense area and the leasing companies

are still going full bore so i would conclude that the well is a smoker.

anyone else have any insight?

Joe, I am having trouble posting operable links to the various databases that I suggest as good means to track SMK activity along the LA./AR. state line.  If they do not work, try to copy and paste them into your browser, then bookmark them for future use.

 

For current activity in Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne and Union parishes, check the Shreveport District Scout Report which is updated each Thursday.

You are looking for wells either side of the state line for 6 to 12 miles that are permitted to the Smackover with a TVD (True Vertical Depth) and a MD (Measured Depth) indicating a horizontal well.

I used to tony but I didn't renew because IMO it was a rehash of dated information.  I also subscribed to UG Center which is another Hart publication which experienced the same problem.  It did have some very good tech articles but you could have gotten the E&P data off SONRIS or other Haynesville websites long before it was posted to UG Center.

judy, if you know the location of the previous well, this is about 5 miles north and two miles east.  In the general vicinity of Rockymount Baptist Church on Columbia Road 27S which is approximately due west of Magnolia.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. Brammer and Anderson are non profits who run a charity to keep unemployed rough necks working. This is nothing more than a WPA type project.

tony, on the S-T-R, you are right, I am wrong. I wrote it down incorrectly the first time.  Probably in part wishful thinking on my part as I was hoping the next well would be north of the Watson-Scott.  I'm thinking that the L. SMK should be drilled where it is a little less deep.  And maybe it will be in this new location.

In addition to this question, does anyone know if there are other working interest oil companies involved in these wells?
