I haven't heard anything about this, but I'll bet I'll be able to see that thing from my back porch. heck, we will all be able to see it from our back porches.

Skip I was on Baker Hughes interactive maps and noticed 2 deep oil wells being drilled:  one south of Mansfield and one in north Sabine Parish. Both are in 15000-20000 depth and drilled to salt basins.

Also there is a similar well in Panola County west of Joaquin. These are not my super rig, as these are not in production yet. The lg. rig I am talking about is supposedly already producing oil. I WILL find out where it is and if my contact's friend has exagerrated this.

That's interesting.  Who were the operators of the deep oil wells in DeSoto and Sabine Parishes?  Can you figure out the Serial Numbers for them so we can look at them in closer detail?

Shell and Chesapeake. Don't know which one is where.  go to bakerhughes.com and choose interactive map. Pretty cool site

I think I see the wells you are referring to but when I attempt to add detail to the map, they disappear.  There are no wells listed with the state that appear to match the limited information available on the bakerhughes.com map.  There are no permitted wells in DeSoto or Sabine with TVD's approaching 20,000'.  There are some that approach 19,000' for a permitted MD which includes the entire well bore length including lateral.

one is a vertical and one a horizontal. One permitted in Feb. and one in March. I do not think either of these is the "lg. oil well" that I am hearing about. Supposedly that one is already producing. I am turning into a damn detective trying to find out @ these wells. LOL. Gossip usually has a grain of truth.I remember several months back hearing about the Nancy Brewster in Harrison and that it was for oil. Lots of hearsay became reality. Hopefully these oil wells in Desoto will become realities

They do not appear to exist except on the bakerhughes.com interactive map.  Rumors generally are 96% inaccurate.  And the Nancy Brewster well production is a rumor until there is an official completion report filed with the TRRC.  There are no wells permitted or drilling that are not reported by the DNR.  And there are none that I can find that fit the description of these two wells.

Here are the wells Baker Hughes has listed as "oil" :

Nabors #102 Rig, Shell, Olympia Mills 23 #1 Well, SN 242644, S23-T9N-R12W 
Nomac #22 Rig, Chesapeake, Pegues 17 #H1 Well, SN 242722, S17-T11N-R13W

I'm thinking the the wells were just labeled wrong by Baker Hughes.

FXEF, yes - these are both Haynesville/Bossier Shale wells.

FXEF, I think you are correct.  Neither is listed on SONRIS Lite as oil wells and neither is permitted to 20,000'.  They are typical Haynesville horizontal wells with normal TVDs.

KCM, this rig is likely just going to target some of the deeper portions of the Haynesville Shale with measured depths approaching 20,000 ft.
