Does a drilling company have to notify an individual if they drill a well in your section? If i am reading Sonris correct it looks like they have drilled a well in Town 8N, Range 13w , Sec. 10 and it is waiting on Frac Job!! Think pad is in Sec. 3!! Have not recieved any kind of notification. Any information will be greatly appreciated! THANX!!!!!!!!!

NUDOG,

O&G operators are not required to notify anyone before the drilling of a well, unless it is stated in your lease that they do so. If the surface location and pad site are to be located on your property, then you will be contacted and paid for surface usage per the terms of your lease.

Thanks FXEF. Im a little ignorant when it comes to all this o&g business. I was contacted the other day by a company wanting to buy minerals and was told there was a well being drilled in my section. Of course I told them this was news to me. I was just doing a little investigating and trying to find out for sure. Once again thanks for the info!!!!!

NUDOG,

I would be very careful in dealing with anyone wanting to buy your minerals, you can unknowingly sell your minerals for pennies of what they are actually worth.

If they start producing in your section will you recieve notice?

If you are leased, I would hope so. It's called mailbox money.

Craig, no specific notification when production starts so you need to check Sonris for production information.

Mr. Les am I reading Sonris correct??

NUDOG, yes - you are reading Sonris correctly.  The well had a surface location in Section 3 but the lateral was drilled in Section 10.

Don't do much good to look at Sonris, does it Les B.  It hasn't been updated for about 2 months or so.  I keep looking for info on Jimmy Ray Brown 9H 002 Alt, #242921 and I can't find any.  I hear that the rig has been moved, and fracing has taken place, but nothing on Sonris.  It looks like they could update at least once a month!

The reason given a long time ago for no updates was the Great Oil Spill, but that is history now.  I don't know what their reasons are now.

Oh well, I'll just keep looking.

grasshopper.

grasshopper,

Sonris did finally update the info on the well across the road from the Jimmy Ray Brown well......well 242013.  So hang in there, maybe it won't be too much longer.
