Joseph,
The field rules will establish spacing and potentially other rules. If not included in the paper, there is probably a fairly detailed description at the RRC website. Basically, it will take the wildcat well they drilled and legitimize it, such that similar wells drilled in the area, if any operate under the same rules.
Is this a GOOD thing dbob ---- or just something that they have to do anyway ?
I read it as positive, intent to develop the area, but I will defer to others to comment more fully
DBOB. The others that I have interviewed about this tend to agree with you that it is a positive sign
Joseph, thanks for posting this info -------- anything new with the XTO project in Pennington ?
I think a probate matter is holding up the "title run"--they are planning to go in right across from the cemetery and pad is supposed to be about 3/4 mile back in the pasture south of Houston County line but not by much.
Drove by the Abbeyville road pad site --yesterday. Dont understand why they didnt do better with putting gravel on the one lane road right before the site--anyone could get stuck easily. Also the bridge which is about one mile before the pad has a 10000 lb limit. That's not enough for anticipated traffic is it?
Joseph,
I guess that is a 5 ton county road bridge ? The counties seriously under rate their bridges to avoid liability issues and of course if a contractor crosses the bridge with 10001 lbs and it fails then he or his insurance will have to build the county a new bridge and deal with the injuries etc. -------- ironically is the fact that the counties have full size heavy dump trucks/motor-graders/bull dozers etc. and cross those 5 ton bridges all the time.
Are you hearing or seeing anything on the North Side of the Pennington-Fodice-Holly FM road about half way down ? a rough pad was spotted there about a week ago by our eye in the sky -------- not sure what county-- could be on top of the line itself
The field rules were approved, as described here. http://www.rrc.state.tx.us/meetings/ogpfd/ogpor41/3-74567ord.pdf
No real news, although it does suggest there was no significant opposition. Note that the depths listed would correspond roughly with 2500 feet of pay.
Thanks dbob,
Steel Horse Field ? That well is behind the old Ranch Club that has been renamed Iron Horse Saloon isn't it dbob ? ------ Wonder if they named the field to honor that saloon?lol
Your guess is as good as mine - haven't been down 94 in a few years, but yeah, i could see someone with a sense of humor giving it that name.
On an unrelated note, there has been a filing with the Texas Secretary of State office for a possible Eaglebine related company in Lufkin http://www.lookupbook.com/profile/business-wholesale/tx/lufkin/eagl...
The address is an office for several lawyers
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
