Nothing going on in my backyard so I took a drive down Hwy 21 today. Saw 2 drilling rigs set up very close to the highway about 5 miles south of Madisonville. Also saw some NEW old time pumps had been placed on sites and were pumping. The oil business is definitely alive and well all the way from Madisonville to Bryan.

Thanks - see much surveying tape/stakes?

Didnt see any surveying scraps, but did see some roadwork that looked like potential pad sites. Also saw some pipeline work going on.

 Thanks Joseph,

Hwy 21 seems to be "center line" for the play right now ----- good bit of fracing and completing going on in the Austonio area that you can't see from the road except at night you can see the glow of work lights on the horizon etc.  ------- hard to believe that XTO is still dragging in thePennington area after they pushed so hard to get those pads ready------ A large pipe yard (One Ok ?) in the Austonio area has a bunch of new flagging on the gate

OneOk is negotiating with me now for a 16" NGL pipeline (Sterling III) in western Trinity County.  Was this pipe in Austonio 16"?

Pipeyard in Austonio area yes, and still had some 16" in it left over from a line they laid 3 yrs ago in Midway---- no new pipe yarded yet ------- Vernon when are they saying they want to start construction??

"Vernon when are they saying they want to start construction?? "

They did not say.  Last that I read they planned to start in early 2013 and complete by late 2013.  Seems fast for a 570+ mile pipeline.  They must be obtaining ROW's from the north to south as I have had my initial offer for a couple of weeks as have others in northern counties and my friend in Liberty Co. is still waiting to hear from them.

As a side note there does not seem to be many involved (surface owners of pipelines) who participate on any of these forums so information is difficult to come by.

They had a discussion on GHS about the Keystone  line several months back and it drew lots of attention  ------ suggest you start a new Titled Discussion or ask jffree where to look on GHS for more info ------ I heard one guy say their second offer was 6x greater than their first for him ? but I don't know any of the details

That Keystone thread was in the main page discussions, I believe, but you can find all sorts of info (about a Gazillion posts) by doing a search for "pipeline" or "right-of-way" in the archives.  That will pull up all instances, even in the Groups.  Main page, scroll to bottom of discussions and click on "view all".  Then you will find a search box near the top of the page.

Vernon or DH... anyone... you are welcome to start a new discussion in this group dedicated to pipeline ROWs in this area. That would help keep everything (pertaining to such) all in one spot and easy to find.

Thanks jffree,

"about a Gazillion posts"  how many is that anyway? ---- will I be able to read through that many in one lifetime?

DH,

Any news on "Jackson" or any of Trivium/Terraces's sites?

LOL! It's a LOT and, no, probably not if you expect to get other important stuff done, too.  "Pipeline" returns 2,349 search results and "ROW" or "right-of-way" returns another (combined) 1,339 results in the archives so... have at it but pack a lunch.

A new discussion in this group will bring fresh data points pertinent to this area.  Many of the discussions in the archives have good general information but they are from as early as 2008 and the money being paid then may not be applicable to conditions today.

I would like to apologize to Joseph for hijacking this thread.  I have been around forums long enough to know better.  I realize now that I should have PM'd DH with this question.

I am certainly looking forward to more "Sunday Drive" reports.  They really help us out-of-towners.

jffree - I took your advice and started a discussion in the Texas group.  Hopefully I will get some responses.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
