Katana Energy, LLC Garrett gas Unit #2 - Walker County Buda 471 30337

G-1 is attached - pressure is good, pressure drop while flowing is not.  gas, no liquids.  Details of G-1 suggest either this was a problem well, or a problem well for recompletion.  Depth is about 12000 feet.  IMHO, the problems with the well suggest it isn't representative, but perhaps there is something going on with the rock in that part of the worlds?

Speculation at best, but faulting, folding, or something else (salt?) that is causing loss of circulation and/or hole collapse.  There have been a few good conventional wells in the area, so I think faulting or folding could be the issue.

 

Of coruse, Katana is not a widely know driller of wells.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
