Environmental Protections for Onshore Oil and Gas Production Operations and Leases (API Recommended Practices 51R, First Ed., July 2009)

Are these recommended practices still in play, or have they been revised and/or eliminated?

To my knowledge, API has not issued a significant update to this general document, but I think added a document on groundwater issues.  Won't have a chance to dig it up tonight, but I think its out there.  

In general, I would say that most operators work to follow the recommended practices, and in some cases exceed them, however, I think in many cases its more back of the envelope, rather than formally checking off vs the document.
