We leased to Trinity.  Upon searching the internet for them, I see nothing! Well, very little, and no information about the Shreveport company.  I see no wells drilled by them, and nothing affiliating htem with another company.

Sooooooo...... ?

Trinity Petroleum is not an operator (they don't drill wells).  They are a land company representing an energy company or an investor speculating in leases.  Would you care to share some of the specifics regarding location and lease terms?  It might be helpful for others.

THANKS!

I'm bit on checking the SOS site for this kind of information, however, it didn't even cross my mind this time.

We have a lease on two pieces of our properties for $400/acre in West Feliciana Parish.  When I was checking the various wells in our general area, I saw several drillers, but not Trinity.  When I asked our attorney about Trinity and just how it all works, he stated he hadn't really seen anything on Trinity aside from all the leases he had handled.  My question was pertaining to how all of this works.  I'm very new to it, as my dad had handled the lease and proceeds on the well drilled on family land in East Baton Rouge Parish.

In any case, I started searching for Trinity, and wasn't able to find anything on them via Bing, Google, and Dog Pile.  All of this lead to my question here.

Thank you for your help! I've learned a great deal!

You're welcome.  Few energy companies lease in their name especially in emerging plays.  Land companies make the actual lease offers, execute the leases and file them with the parish clerk of court.  Sometime in the future, usually after a good bit of development when there is no reason to be secretive, you can find an assignment from the land company to the operator in the public records.  If you are handling the management of your family minerals now this is a good place to start learning the basics.  Good Luck.

Trinity is a land services firm that acts as a "leasing agent" for their clients. As is customary, their client's identity is presumably confidential unless they volunteer this information. Trinity is a relatively newer group, but what little I have heard about them has been positive.

Everyone I have spoken with who leased to them has been very happy with the deal they were able to strike. It appears that they accumulated a pretty significant position in West Feliciana and Wilkinson County. I think they are still leasing some smaller tracts in order to firm up potential drilling units. It will be interesting to see what happens!
