Skip, thanks for continuing to publish Locations & Completions....it's a great way to periodically keep up with activity in and near my tracts of land. I appreciate your expertise in this business.

You're welcome, Ezra.  The Sonris Lite database is even better but requires a little tutoring.  The SONRIS Help Center Group can teach a LA mineral owner to perform basic research and tracking regarding their mineral interest.

Haynesville dry gas drilling keeps declinig it appears

Yep, just wish completions would do the same.  November 177 wells were reported Waiting On Completion, December 174.  If there were no wells drilled beyond these and one was completed every other day it would still take the rest of the year for the back log to go to zero.

Skip---How many total completed for month? i am sure more than the 177 minus 174= 3  since i assume other well drilling and some completed and others  back log then added to waiting list.Skip--- do you have numbers for each year of completed wells on line to sells in Haynesville for La. since play started? Would be interested to see numbers each year thru 2012

See a's link above, adubu.  You will see several tracking spreadsheets and graphs.  The master spreadsheet can be sorted to highlight whatever data you wish.

A - very interesting chart. It appears well total count about same for the year. Producing wells increase number by wells drilled and competed but permitted wells not drilled declining by number drilled so it appears if I read correctly minimal to no new units permitted for the year 2012. We should see a large drop in BCF per day production supply very soon for wells permitted that operator plan to drill will be done by year end 2013 but will take another couple years to completed wells waiting for Fac Crew or prices more favorable to put on line and complete. Do you have data from earlier years in play ? Thanks for chart and am I reading the data correctly? Skip how do read chart A posted? Looks like only 258 more wells to drill and complete unless permits with leases return

adubu - I'm in the mineral trade and have a great deal of interest in what happens in the Cotton Valley and the Haynesville shale.  I'm very impressed with your analyses. I do my own research through the government web sites, but occasionally drop in here to get a feel for the local pulse.  I have seen your name in many places on the GHS site  You always ask very pertinent questions and you seem to be a very adept researcher. Could you please give me a list of other places where I can get research questions answered, such as what you are getting here?  I would love to be able to get such a large amount of in-depth information for free!  Are you able to give me a list of such places, or is it a talent that you must practice and develop?  Russ

Russell---Thank you for yout kind words. Most of Data that I post and comments on site is primary through reading news media such as WSJ, Barrons, Bloomberg Business News on line, Fox News, MarketWatch, and review data on drilling etc.  in Texas by checking Texas RRC web site and I have a little royalty in a cotton valley unit in East Texas Rusk County plus some unleased minerals in shale play Shelby and Nacogdoches County Texas so this keeps me interesting in Oil & Gas News. I also have investment stocks in number of MLP and oil gas public traded companies, therefore I read and listen to a lot of Earning releases and conference calls on companies such as EOG, XOM, CJES, DVN. XCO, Cabot,SD, ETP,BBEP, etc.  Number of friend that work in the business of small independent operators that I listen to them talk, etc. Also as you said I have learn to weed out rhetoric is some discussions and news media which takes time to develop. This is a fun site to go on to get some relaxing reading and also to improve knowledge about leasing, etc. and what's going on in local area that are posted by people with boots on ground around locations that I have personal interest in. There are some nice professional people on this site that are kind to share their knowledge to group.  The data I post about Nat Gas supplies with added or draw from storage is from Gov release of data at 10:30 EST on Thursdays and reported on Market Watch and other new wires at that time.Natural Gas Trends come from Texas RRC Site that is posted weekly but is 2-3 weeks behind posting data.
