I just got a call today, from XTO, saying they were running a pipeline from east to west, across the Attoyac. There are several rigs drilling for XTO in Waterman at this time. Does anyone know where other XTO wells are that might tie into this pipeline. Maybe around the Lake Pinkston area.

Thank you! From where I live, I would have thought I could hear the drilling activey. And, my son went across the Attoyac on his 4-wheeler, this summer when the creek was so low, that it could be crossed, and he worked his way all the way out, onto the dirt road that goes over Pine Hill. At that time, he didn't see any sign of a location, so it must be pretty new.
it's brand new...just permitted....have you heard anything about Devon Powdrill #2...I heard that they had all sorts of drilling problems..
I don't know much, but they have been drilling for over 3 months. I do know that when Halaburton (don't know how to spell it) was testing they lost their equipment down the hole. They must have tried everything to get it back, but all felled, had to cement the hole and drill thru it. I think that is when they kicked out, and the bottom hole shows to be maybe 20 feet over from where it was before. I got that info from the Devon office in Center, then
I found the info on the RRC site, and read the notes. From what I gathered, from the different applications and letters filed, that much be what happened.
I did hear thru the grapevine, that it was going to be a really good well. Said, they had been drilling under 15 lbs of mud from the get-go. I ask my son about this, and he said, the norm would be more like 5 lbs.
My question is why is the Powdrill #2 called a directional and not a vertical? What did you hear about it?
I talked to XTO today, and found out that the Harris Well site, is in a wetland. The RRC, has put a stop on that location. I remember another company had built that site about 2 or 3 years ago, then abanded it. We wonder why. At that time we new that well was going to be close to our property, and were waiting to see how it did. But, when nothing happened, we assumed the records for other wells in the area, must have been bad so the company changed their minds about drilling on that site. So now, XTO has purchased those leases, and went in and did a work over on the old site to get it ready to drill. I guess they didn't know about the wetland problem, or maybe it's a new problem...I don't know. Anyway, the pipeline is kinda on hold, but they did say the surveyors would be coming out soon.....who knows. I ask to be notified in writting for permission to come on my land, that way I might have some input on the location before they start stakeing.

No. 4 is 11.2 miles southwest to Center in the Hooper, GW Survey, A-281. No. 5 and is 11.4 miles southwest of Center in Hooper, GW Survey, A-281. They may be drilled in Stockman (Cotton Valley) Field, wildcat field, or Stockman, South (Travis Peak) Field.
Thank you, I have been told now, that location (Harris Well 1) is in a wet land zone, and the TRRC will not let them drill there. Let me know if you learn anythng else.
Harris bottom hole loc is in wetlands zone...surface loc will probably be moved....can anyone confirm that Devon #7H McSwain is actually a Haynesville Shale horizontal well?
John, I have news about the Harris Well. I was told the site has been moved 3 times, but as of yesterday, an agreement was signed with the land owner and the location site is confirmed. I was told that the drilling will start in Feb. 2009. That sounds kinda slow to me. I met with the pipeline people today, and they were willing to let me tell them where I would agree to have a pipeline go thru my property. They have been very nice thus far. The difference between this company, (XTO) and Enbridge is that I could say "No" to
XTO, and they would have to go around me, but Enbridge is going to come thru my land, like it or not. So, I am working to strike the best deal with Enbridge that I can.
happy holidays to everyone....any update on the Devon Powdrill #2?
Hey John, They finished up the Powdrill #2 an started moving the rig on Christmas day. On New Years eve, night they were getting the last of everything. This morning when I drove by, everything was cleaned up and the well head had clean pea gravel around it, and I think it is already hooked up to the pipeline and under production. The new equipment is there with little solar panel and all.
Sooooo, does that sound like good news? I was half-way expecting to see the trucks come in to frac, but they never showed up. I didn't go on the drill site and ask any questions.
The Rig was move just up the road to the Polly#2, and is drilling now. I can hear it from my house.
Do you have interest in the Powdrill #2 ?
thanks for the update....I don't have an interest in the Powdrill #2 but do have in the Polley #2...but hope they both turn out to be good wells....Happy New Year!
